Esther Adena Iszler, daughter of Fred and Pauline (Rothfusz) Iszler was born December 22, 1917 on a farm northeast of Ashley.  She was baptized in the Bethany Lutheran Country Church and confirmed in the Danzig Lutheran Church.

She was united in marriage to Rudolph Ehley on July 15, 1937 in the Danzig parsonage by Rev. T.N. Deguine.  They made their home in Ashley except for a short time when they lived in Grand Coulee, Washington.

Esther was a career mother and homemaker, seamstress, quilter, great cook, canning specialist and baker.  In 1956, she took a major role in the construction of a new home she and her husband had built.  Caring for her family was her major concern and she took such pride in her granddaughters.  She provided child care for three families in the 1960’s and worked for the Ashley Dry Cleaners in the early 1970’s.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and active in WELCA.  She was also a member of Ashley Senior Center for many years and lovingly stitched many a quilt with that organization.

Cora & Family , & Gary Your mom was truly one of the nicest people I ever had the opportunity to know. I knew her when I was a child & in the past few months had the chance to see her a couple of times at the Nursing home and it's was as though hardly anytime had passed. She was the same sweet Esther and so concered about us. So sorry for your loss. the Denning Family

Gary, Cora & Family, Still remember so well visiting Uncle Rudy & Aunt Esther with mom & dad. Your dad teasing & giving us kids a hard time & your mom just shaking her head & saying "Rudy." Always enjoyed getting the update on your Air Force assignments. Oh how proud there were of both you Andrea & Vanessa, you are so fortunate to have grandparents like them. Please know you are all in our thoughts & prayers during this time of sorrow. God Bless you all
