Bonnie J. Haase-Rabine Obituary

Ellendale, ND-Memorial Service for Bonnie Haase-Rabine, 73, of Ellendale will be 11:00 am, Friday, March 25, 2022, at Aberdeen Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Elder John Merkel will officiate. The service will be live streamed and available at www.Carlsenfh.com under Bonnie’s obituary.

Burial will be in Kulm Seventh-Day Adventist Cemetery at a later date.

Bonnie died March 21, 2022, at her daughter’s home in Aberdeen.                 

Bonnie, daughter of Clifford and Lillian (Cherney) Knapp was born June 29, 1948, near Kulm, ND. She attended school in Kulm and Ellendale. She then obtained her LPN credentials in Florida. She returned to Ashley and worked in a café and bakery.

She was united in marriage to Robert Haase in Ashley. They made their home in Ellendale where she worked at the Ellendale Hospital and Ellendale Nursing Center as an LPN. In 1978, they purchased Keller Oil, and she operated the service station until 1988. Bonnie then managed the Ellendale Senior Center for a couple of years. In the 1990’s, she moved to Glenwood Springs, CO where she owned and operated a restaurant for a few years. In 1998, she returned to Ellendale to enjoy her retirement years. 

On August 6, 2002, Bonnie was united in marriage to Ronald Rabine in Aberdeen. They made their home in Ellendale.

In healthier times, she enjoyed camping, especially with her grandchildren. She also liked traveling and her Yorkie Terriers were her constant companions. Bonnie also loved to sing in church. Bonnie was a member of Ellendale Seventh-Day Adventist Church.    

Grateful for having shared Bonnie’s life are her husband, Ronald of Ellendale; daughter, Melissa Bock of Aberdeen; son, Sam (Julie) Haase of Ellendale; sister, Brenda Knapp of Fargo; step-children, Liana Matson of Bristol, SD, Rusty (Leanna) Rabine and Darren (Patty) Rabine, both of Sioux Falls, Tristan (Kristy) Rabine of Strandburg, SD, and Nathan (Courtney) Rabine of New Vienna, OH; five grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild and five step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Honorary Urnbearers will be Bonnie’s grandchildren.
