Lester Dais

Aberdeen, SD-Private Family Funeral Service for Lester Dais, 86, of Aberdeen will be 2:00 pm Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Carlsen Funeral Home in Eureka. Rev. Gary Compton will officiate.

Burial will be in Church of God Seventh-Day Cemetery, rural Eureka.

Lester died April 13, 2021 at Avera Mother Joseph Manor in Aberdeen.

There will be a Public Memorial Service held in July.

Lester Leroy Dais, son of Reuben and Mary (Kalner) Dais was born September 5, 1934 on the family homestead near Venturia, ND. Lester began farming at a very young age near Greenway, SD and Venturia, ND, later taking over the family operation near Venturia and Zeeland, ND. He was a hard-working farmer his entire life.

He enjoyed puzzles, John Wayne movies and watching Family Feud and The Price Is Right. He was an avid reader of farm journals and anything in regard to John Deere. He was a fan of Fox News.

Lester was united in marriage to Marilyn Bauer in 1951. They had five sons, Rick, Darryl, Wayne, Kevin, and Brian, along with four grandchildren, Stephen, Kendra, Alex, and Logan and two great-grandchildren. He also is survived by his brother, Delbert.

In 2000, he was united in marriage to Margie Jacobsen and gained four step-children, Kristin Fliehs, and Tom, Rafe and Ryan Jacobsen, along with eight step-grandchildren, Kelsey and Kailey Fliehs, Grace and Tyler Jacobsen, Eric Jacobsen and Riley, Reis, and Ren Jacobsen.

Lester was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Marilyn, and his sister, Berniece Straub.
