Robert “Bob” Farrell

Aberdeen, SD-There will be no services for Robert "Bob" Farrell, 85, of Aberdeen.

Robert died March 21, 2021 at his home.

Robert Farrell was born June 6, 1935, to Michael and Elizabeth (Donavon) Farrell at Lackawanna County, PA.

Robert was united in marriage to Mavis Clark for 64 years. Robert and Mavis traveled the globe. Their journey started in Duluth, MN then moving to Orlando, FL where they started their family. Robert and Mavis had two boys, David and Michael. Robert was employed by Martin Marietta as a Quality Control Engineer for 30 years. Robert's career provided his family with the adventure of living in El Paso, TX, Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands and Langdon, ND. The journey continued with adventures in Winsted, CT and Baltimore, MD where he ended his career with Martin Marietta. In retirement his adventurous spirit carried Robert and Mavis to Holyoke, CO, Hutchinson, KS and finally Aberdeen, SD.

Robert was respected and loved by all who knew him. He led an exceptional life and was generous with his time and resources. He lived the life of a servant he believed and demonstrated a life of paying it forward.

Robert served in The United States Air Force.

Robert is survived by his wife, Mavis; sons, David (Nikki) Farrell of Aberdeen and Michael (Laura) Farrell of Gainesville, FL; brothers, John Farrell of Denver, CO, Michael Farrell of Philadelphia, PA; and eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Robert left us with a final demonstration of his wit and sense of humor. Inside an old portfolio he used for work, we found on a piece of graft paper inside a page titled:
"What to do when I'm dead."
1. Cremation without services
2. A list of phone numbers and instructions to take care of financial details.
3. Spread my ashes on the east side of the Organ mountains in New Mexico.
