The funeral service for Sandra “Sandy” Bobzien, 62, of Aberdeen will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Aberdeen on Monday, November 14, 2022, at 11 am, with visitation one hour before the service.  Sandy passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 5, 2022, with family by her side, after a courageous five-year battle with Cancer.

Sandra Fay Hokana was born on October 5, 1960, in Oakes, North Dakota to Marshall and Edith (Raisanen) Hokana.  She and her 4 siblings lived with their parents on the family farm, east of Ellendale. Sandy and Robin started dating around Christmas of 1977.  She Graduated from Ellendale High School in 1978.

Following graduation, she went to NDSSS to get an education in Computer Data Processing.  She obtained her first job at Dakota Farmer in Aberdeen in 1979.  She moved to Jamestown in 1981 and eventually started working on her Business Administration degree from Jamestown College.

Sandy married Robin Bobzien on May 4, 1985.  While living in Jamestown, Sandy completed her Business Degree from Jamestown College, and completed her degree in Business Education from Valley City State.  She was employed in a few different positions including Jamestown School District and Jamestown College, teaching business and computer related classes. Between working and continuing her education, she also found time to have three sons: Nathan, Corey, and Chris.

In 1994, Sandy moved with her family to Aberdeen, South Dakota.  She commuted and taught at Jamestown College for an additional academic year.  She began employment with the Aberdeen School District for a few years teaching business vocation classes.  She began employment at Presentation College teaching Business and Computer Classes in the late 1990’s and received her Master’s in Business Education from Northern State. She retired from Presentation College in 2015.

She enjoyed working on Family Genealogy, Quilting, reading, walking, playing board games, traveling, and spending time with her Family, especially when it was at the Family Lake House.  She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
